Do you find yourself refraining from smiling because you are afraid of what your teeth look like? You shouldn’t have to go through life with this feeling—life is too short. Dental Implants are a great solution to replace one or many teeth with new, ceramic teeth, giving you a natural and captivating smile again. From colour to shape and size, everything is customized just for you. When we’re finished, you won’t be able to stop smiling—you will be so proud to show off your new teeth.
As dental implants are permanent and placed directly into your jawbone, you can avoid many of the issues that dentures bring with them like stability and that awkward feeling in your mouth. Dental implants are non-removable, strong, and feel just like natural teeth. Implants look and feel great as they are designed to better emulate your natural teeth. Since they have the same structure (root and crown), they behave and perform just like natural teeth. What a great solution.
We are here to talk with you through every step and make sure that your are comfortable and confident. If you have any questions about our Ancaster Dental Implants, give us a call or set up a consultation.
Going through your everyday routine with a missing tooth can be really bad for your oral health. After you lose a tooth, you will start to have bone loss in your jaw as a result. If not treated, you could lose around 25% of the bone in that area. Since there is a gap in your teeth it leaves the gums much more exposed and this can lead to infections and the teeth nearest to the area may start to shift, creating their own issues. Tooth decay and gum disease can happen after teeth start to shift as you might not be able to properly reach all areas of your teeth when you brush or floss. If you have a missing tooth, don’t let it wait, it needs to be taken care of right away.
Implants are fused directly into your jawbone. This way, we can make them look natural and realistic.
You won’t have to worry about poor fitting dentures that slip when you talk. You will be able to talk normally.
Functioning like your natural teeth, you can eat all foods again without fear of sliding, discomfort or pain.
If you have one or multiple missing teeth this will affect your ability to chew and will make a gap in your smile. Implants are a great solution to fixing your missing teeth. Implants are artificial roots that are surgically placed into the jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. The biggest benefit of implants is that they are permanent and stable and do not require neighbouring teeth to support them. The material used is made from different types of metallic and bone-like ceramic materials that are compatible with body tissues. Most implants are made of titanium, which bonds well with bone and is biocompatible.
Since a removable denture depends upon support from the bone and soft tissues, it won’t provide as much stability as an implant that is solidly fixed in place. Implants are also great as you won’t have to deal with messy adhesives to apply them as they are permanent and last a lifetime. While implants do cost more, our Ancaster dental implants are a much superior product compared to dentures giving you years of enjoyment.
First is a surgery, done by a dental specialist, to place the implant’s anchor into the jaw. The implant is then left for 3-6 months in order to ensure that the jawbone has grown around the implant and is holding it firmly in place. Once the implant is stable and the gums have healed, an artificial tooth is made to fit the post portion of the implant anchor.
The final result is a comfortable and attractive implant that looks and feels like a natural tooth. The main reason why some implants fail is because of poor oral hygiene. It is important to brush and floss around implants at least twice a day. When in the office, you will receive specific instructions on how to care for your new implants. In order to retain healthy gums around the implant, it may be recommended that you come in for cleanings with your hygienist more frequently throughout the year.
Implants are not the best option for everyone. Since implants do require surgery, it is vital that patients who are interested in implants have good overall health, healthy gums and have adequate bone structure to support the implant in place. Lack of bone support is not something that would rule you out as a candidate for implants. There are additional procedures that can be done in order to create a proper implant site.

“I had a pleasant experience at Ancaster Dental Care last week. The receptionist was friendly and accommodating when I booked the appointment. Erica, the hygienist, was so nice and very thorough. Dr. Amburle was amazing—I didn't feel a thing as she filled my cavity. She is so kind, gentle and patient. She offered suggestions on what she thought needed to be addressed, and what could wait but should be monitored. She wasn't pushy in any way and I felt comfortable with her opinion. The office was very clean and professional. I highly recommend Dr. Amburle and her team if you are looking for a new dentist.”

“Dr. Hambly has been my dentist since 2004 when I moved to Hamilton. I’ve had many dentists in my lifetime due to moving around a lot. He has absolutely been the best one I’ve ever had. Very gentle and thorough. I moved to Burlington seven years ago and will not change to one closer to me. He is totally worth the drive. If your looking for a new dentist—trust me, look no further!”
