Will Zoom! whitening be a good choice for me?
Almost anyone can benefit from the advantages of Zoom! Whitening. However, treatment may not be as effective for some as it is for others. Through a thorough oral exam, it can be determined if you are a good candidate for this in-office procedure. As with any tooth whitening product, Zoom! is not recommended for children under 18 years of age and pregnant or lactating women. Zoom! is not recommended for those who are undergoing PUVA therapy or other photochemotherapy, or for patients with melanoma. Patients taking any light sensitive drugs or substances should consult their primary care physician prior to the procedure.
What will it be like for me during the procedure?
The procedure is simple. It begins with a short preparation to cover your lips and gums, leaving only your teeth exposed. A whitening gel is then applied and activated by a specially designed light. The Zoom! light and gel work together to gently penetrate your teeth, breaking up stains and discolouration. During the procedure, patients may comfortably watch television or listen to music. The Zoom! light generates minimal heat that may sometimes cause discomfort. Individuals with a strong gag reflex or anxiety may have difficulty undergoing the entire procedure.
